Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation

Break Down Tension, Restore Movement, Enhance Recovery

At CS Mind and Body, we offer IASTM (Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation) to help relieve pain, restore mobility and support faster recovery. This advanced manual therapy technique uses specially designed tools to detect and treat areas of soft tissue dysfunction. Whether you’re dealing with tight muscles, scar tissue or chronic tension, IASTM is an effective way to get your body moving and feeling better.

What is IASTM?

IASTM involves gliding smooth, contoured instruments over the skin to identify and address areas of restriction in the fascia and soft tissues. These tools allow for a more targeted and deeper treatment than hands alone.

The technique helps:

  • Break down scar tissue and adhesions
  • Stimulate a healing response in injured or overused areas
  • Improve circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Reduce pain and inflammation
  • Increase mobility and flexibility

IASTM can be used as a standalone treatment or alongside sports massage and movement therapy for even better results.

How Does it Work?

The controlled pressure from IASTM tools gently stimulates the body’s natural healing response. As we treat the restricted areas, fresh blood and nutrients are brought in to encourage tissue repair and regeneration. You may experience some mild redness or tenderness in the treated areas—that’s a good sign your body is responding and healing.

What to Expect During Your Session

Before your appointment, we’ll send you a short online form to understand your goals and any specific issues you’re experiencing. At your session, we’ll assess your movement, identify target areas, and explain how IASTM will be used. Using precise, gliding strokes with the tools, we’ll work to release tight or restricted tissue. While you may feel some pressure, most clients find the treatment deeply relieving—some even describe it as a “good pain.”You may feel immediate improvements in movement and reduced pain after just one session.
